Join us for an evening of excellent music by Winnipeg's Brian James, some fantastic chocolate and wine...

Brian's style is fiercely original and honest. If Hawksley Workman and Elliott Smith were to have a child together (with the help of modern science) and that child made a record produced by Tom Petty it might give you an idea of what Brian aims for but that's aiming pretty high. Brian would agree.

Whether on guitar or piano or banjolele, (if a banjo and a ukelele were to have a child with the help of modern science) Brian's songs are designed to evoke emotion and leave a piece of himself behind. Don't miss him unless you want to wonder what a banjolele looks and sounds like forever.

Suddenly, she sings along "I have the most garlicky breath in the wooooorrrlllld..."

And from the kitchen, Nina chimes in "Then we must be relaaaaaated..."

Cue unending giggles.

Winter 2008 Featured Artist Jill Marie Stokes

CocoaNymph is proud to present our Winter 2008 Featured Artist, Jill Marie Stokes. Her vibrant paintings are bringing a fresh breath of life to our store walls, and we hope to help her paintings land on your walls.




Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Jill Marie has spent most of her life in the outdoors. Traveling around the world, most recently to Uganda, Australia and Costa Rica, it is hard to catch this free spirit in one place.

A self-taught painter, Jill Marie's paintings nonetheless show many cultural and artistic influences from overseas and here at home in Canada. Her works will be appearing at CocoaNymph through the end of 2008.
